Education – Academic Background
Dr. Panayiotis Tsiverdis entered the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2003 and graduated in 2009 with a “Very Good” grade. Following graduation, he completed his compulsory rural medical service and subsequently undertook training in Internal Medicine as a prerequisite for specialisation in Cardiology. He continued his specialist training at the General Hospital of Nikaia–Piraeus and the University Hospital of Heraklion, where he completed his training and obtained his specialist qualification in Cardiology.

Dr. Panayiotis Tsiverdis specialises in advanced cardiovascular imaging, with particular clinical and scientific interests in:
- Coronary artery disease
- Valvular heart disease
- Stress Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (Stress CMR)
- Cardiac Computed Tomography (Cardiac CT)
- Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (Cardiac MRI/CMR)
His clinical practice focuses on the use of advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging techniques for the accurate diagnosis, assessment, and follow-up of patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Panayiotis Tsiverdis pursued advanced postgraduate training in the United Kingdom at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, where he obtained certification in Cardiac CT and received further training in echocardiographic techniques and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Kelion. He subsequently continued his advanced training at the University of Leeds, where he obtained certification in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance under the supervision of Dr. Peter Swoboda. Dr. Tsiverdis has participated in scientific publications, multicentre studies, and cardiology conferences and has received an award from the Hellenic Cardiological Society, reflecting his ongoing commitment to clinical research and continuing medical education.
Current Position
Since January 2026, Dr. Panayiotis Tsiverdis has been an Exclusive Consultant Cardiologist at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, where he performs a comprehensive range of advanced cardiac CT and cardiovascular magnetic resonance examinations. He is also Head of the Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging Department at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, with responsibility for the provision and development of specialised Cardiac MRI services and the application of advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques in clinical practice.
