Education – Academic Background
Dr. Vasiliki Apostolaki graduated from the School of Medicine of the University of Patras (2008–2014) and is a PhD candidate in the Department of Pharmacology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Following graduation, she completed her rural medical service at the Thermo Health Centre in Aetolia-Acarnania and subsequently trained in Internal Medicine at the General Hospital of Agrinio. She continued her specialist training in Cardiology at Elpis General Hospital of Athens (2018–2022), where she received extensive training in Clinical Cardiology, the Coronary Care Unit, and the specialised Heart Failure and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Clinic. She holds the European qualification in Cardiology and a Master’s Degree in “Arterial Hypertension and Associated Cardiovascular and Renal Diseases” (2022), graduating with distinction. Dr. Apostolaki has specialised training in Cardiac Computed Tomography (Cardiac CT) and is certified by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT). In Emergency Medicine, she is certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). She also holds a Diploma in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine from the Athens National Centre for Emergency Care (EKAB), following successful completion of the relevant training programme and examinations in 2022–2023.

Research and Scientific Work
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Vasiliki Apostolaki was actively involved in the monitoring and assessment of cardiovascular complications in critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit of Elpis General Hospital of Athens. This field of research also forms the subject of her doctoral thesis. She also served as a member of the Crisis Management Team of the National Centre for Emergency Care (EKAB) in Athens, gaining additional experience in the management of medical emergencies and critical situations. Dr. Apostolaki maintains an active scientific profile, participating in Greek and international conferences and scientific publications, both as a speaker and through her academic and scientific writing.
Current Position
Since October 2023, Dr. Vasiliki Apostolaki has been an Exclusive Consultant Cardiologist at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing comprehensive services for the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with cardiovascular diseases. Her clinical practice combines contemporary evidence-based Cardiology with advanced cardiovascular imaging and an individualised approach to patient care, with particular emphasis on Heart Failure, Structural Heart Disease, and Cardiac CT.
