Our commitment to quality is further supported by key programmes and initiatives, including:
Patient Satisfaction Programme
A positive patient experience is closely associated with better clinical outcomes and an improved overall healthcare journey. At Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, we place great importance on understanding our patients’ experiences and continuously enhancing the quality of care we provide.
Our Quality Department monitors patient satisfaction on a daily basis through structured questionnaires completed by patients following their treatment or hospital stay.
The feedback we receive is carefully analysed to help us better understand our patients’ needs and expectations. Their valuable comments enable us to identify opportunities for improvement, refine our services, and continually enhance the quality, safety, and patient-centred care we deliver.
Hospital Infection Prevention & Control Service
At Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, a dedicated Infection Prevention & Control Committee, supported by specially trained Infection Prevention & Control Nurses, oversees the implementation of targeted strategies to prevent, monitor, and manage healthcare-associated infections.
We are committed to fostering a strong culture of infection prevention throughout the Hospital by continuously educating and supporting our staff in the consistent application of evidence-based infection control practices. Particular emphasis is placed on hand hygiene, recognised internationally as the single most effective measure for preventing the transmission of infections and safeguarding both patients and healthcare professionals.
Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme
The appropriate use of antibiotics saves lives. For this reason, Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus operates a comprehensive Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme designed to optimise the safe and effective use of antimicrobial therapy.
Through evidence-based prescribing practices, continuous monitoring, and multidisciplinary collaboration, the programme promotes the appropriate selection, dosage, and duration of antibiotic treatment. This approach improves patient outcomes, reduces the risk of antimicrobial resistance, minimises unnecessary antibiotic use, and supports the highest standards of safe, high-quality clinical care.
Inpatient Falls Prevention Programme
Patient falls are among the most common safety incidents in hospitals and can result in injuries ranging from minor harm to serious complications.
To enhance patient safety, Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus implements a comprehensive Inpatient Falls Prevention Programme that identifies individual risk factors through systematic assessment and applies personalised preventive measures tailored to each patient’s needs.
In addition, we are committed to the continuous education and training of our nursing and healthcare support staff, ensuring the consistent application of best practices in falls prevention. This proactive approach helps maintain low fall rates while providing a safer environment for all patients.
