Education – Academic Background
Dr. Zisis Dimitriadis was born in Kozani and raised in Thessaloniki, where he attended the German School of Thessaloniki. He began his medical studies at the Democritus University of Thrace in Alexandroupolis and completed them at Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany. He subsequently undertook extensive specialist training at Bad Oeynhausen, one of Europe’s major cardiology and cardiac surgery centres, where he specialised in Cardiology and later served as a Consultant. He continued his academic and clinical career at the University Medical Center Mainz, where he served as Deputy Director of the Department of Interventional Cardiology. In 2012, he completed his Doctoral Thesis at Goethe University Frankfurt. He also obtained a Master of Health Business Administration (MHBA) in Health Economics and Healthcare Management from the University of Nuremberg. In 2019, he was appointed Director of an Interventional Department at Goethe University Frankfurt, and in 2025 he was appointed Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Mainz.

Scientific and Research Work
Dr. Zisis Dimitriadis has extensive clinical, academic, and research experience in Interventional Cardiology, with international recognition for his work. His scientific achievements include a research fellowship from the University of Bochum in 2014 and an award for the best TAVI case in Germany in 2016. In 2022, he was selected among 13 interventional cardiologists internationally to participate in the training of physicians from the United States in contemporary interventional techniques. He maintains an active academic role at the University of Mainz, contributing to medical education and scientific research in the field of Cardiology and, particularly, Interventional Cardiology.
Current Position
Since January 2021, Dr. Zisis Dimitriadis has been working at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus as an Interventional Cardiologist and Director of the Cardiology Department, providing specialised interventional cardiology services while overseeing the clinical and organisational activities of the Department.
