Education – Academic Background
Dr. Georgios Poulianitis graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly with a “Very Good” grade. Following the completion of his medical studies in 2014, he fulfilled his rural medical service at the Atsiki Regional Medical Centre, affiliated with the General Hospital – Health Centre of Limnos. He subsequently completed the two-year mandatory training in Internal Medicine required for specialist training in Cardiology at the Athens Naval Hospital, gaining significant experience in emergency medicine and clinical cardiology. During this period, he also served as a Hellenic Navy Medical Officer at the Medical Unit of the Hellenic Navy General Staff.

Dr. Georgios Poulianitis specialises in Cardiology, with particular emphasis on cardiovascular imaging, interventional cardiology, and the contemporary management of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. His main clinical interests include:
- Hypertension and complex cardiovascular disease
- Acute coronary syndromes and emergency cardiology
- Echocardiography and cardiovascular imaging
- Interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory
- Cardiovascular risk prevention and secondary prevention
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Georgios Poulianitis holds a Master’s Degree in Resuscitation from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, graduating with an “Excellent” grade. He is also certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS) by the Hellenic Society of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. He maintains an active scientific profile through participation in conferences organised by the Hellenic Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). His continuing medical education includes advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques, such as stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography, as well as interventional cardiology procedures. He has also contributed to the clinical training of junior doctors in hospital settings, with particular emphasis on the structured assessment and management of cardiovascular emergencies.
Current Position
Since March 2025, Dr. Georgios Poulianitis has been an Exclusive Consultant Cardiologist at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. His clinical practice includes the comprehensive assessment and management of patients with cardiovascular diseases, the treatment of acute cardiac conditions, and the performance and interpretation of cardiovascular diagnostic examinations. He also contributes to the implementation of contemporary evidence-based protocols for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease, with an emphasis on individualised and high-quality patient care.
