Education – Academic Background
Dr. Charalampos Christofidis graduated from the Medical School of the University of Thessaly. Following his medical studies, he completed his compulsory rural medical service at Lamia General Hospital, where he gained valuable clinical experience in the Emergency Department and the Department of Pulmonology. As part of his specialist training in Cardiology, he initially trained in Internal Medicine at Volos General Hospital and subsequently completed his specialist training in Cardiology at the University Hospital of Larissa. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and is certified in Advanced Life Support (ALS). In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr. Christofidis holds a second degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, combining his medical expertise with a strong technological and engineering background.

Dr. Charalampos Christofidis specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of cardiovascular diseases, with particular clinical interests in:

He has significant experience in the management and follow-up of patients with implanted cardiac devices, as well as in the care of complex cardiology patients in both hospital and critical care settings.
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Charalampos Christofidis is a PhD candidate at the Department of Cardiology of the University Hospital of Larissa, with his primary research focus on Heart Failure. His research activity focuses on improving the diagnosis, monitoring, and therapeutic management of patients with heart failure. His academic background in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering further supports his interest in the application of modern technologies and innovative solutions in Cardiology, particularly in areas where medicine, engineering, and advanced cardiac device technology intersect.
Current Position
Since June 2025, Dr. Charalampos Christofidis has been an Exclusive Consultant Cardiologist at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing comprehensive cardiology services with particular emphasis on Heart Failure and cardiac implantable electronic devices. Through his combined clinical, research, and technological background, he provides individualised, evidence-based cardiovascular care, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes and quality of life for patients with cardiovascular disease.
