Education – Academic Background
Dr. Chara Savva was born and raised in Larnaca, Cyprus, and graduated from Agios Georgios Lyceum with Distinction. She subsequently gained admission through the Pancyprian Examinations to the School of Medicine of the University of Patras, graduating in 2019. In the same year, she commenced her specialist training in Anaesthesiology at Laiko General Hospital in Athens, a major referral centre for complex surgical procedures and kidney and liver transplantation. In 2025, she obtained her specialist qualification in Anaesthesiology following successful completion of the relevant examinations in Athens. She is also currently pursuing an MSc in Algology – Pain Management at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During her specialist training, she completed rotations in specialised centres covering Thoracic Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Neuroanaesthesiology, Cardiac Anaesthesia, Pain Medicine, Obstetric Anaesthesia and Paediatric Anaesthesia.

Dr. Chara Savva has clinical experience in the anaesthetic management of complex surgical cases, with particular interest in:

- Acute and chronic pain management
Her clinical approach focuses on individualised anaesthetic strategies, multimodal analgesia and opioid-sparing techniques, aiming to maximise patient safety and promote faster postoperative recovery.
Scientific and Research Work
Dr. Chara Savva maintains an active scientific profile, with publications in international scientific journals, including Signa Vitae and Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, as well as participation in Greek and European scientific conferences. Her research interests focus particularly on multimodal analgesia and opioid-sparing anaesthetic techniques. She is also an External Scientific Associate at European University Cyprus, contributing to the education of students in Basic Life Support principles. Dr. Savva holds international certifications in Advanced Life Support (ALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS Provider), and Advanced Airway Management. She has also completed all six courses of the Committee for European Education in Anaesthesiology (CEEA). She is an active member of several scientific societies, including the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC), European Society of Regional Anaesthesia (ESRA), Hellenic Society of Anaesthesiology, and Hellenic Society of Palliative and Symptomatic Care.
Current Position
Since July 2025, Dr. Chara Savva has been an Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, practising as an Anaesthesiologist and contributing to the anaesthetic management of surgical cases and the comprehensive perioperative care of patients.
