Education – Academic Background
Dr. Charikleia Lili graduated from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1991 with a “Very Good” degree classification. She completed her specialist training in Anaesthesiology at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care of the University General Hospital of Patras, where she received comprehensive training across the full spectrum of general and regional anaesthesia, as well as in the management of high-risk and critically ill patients. After obtaining her specialist qualification in Anaesthesiology in 1996, she continued her advanced training in Intensive Care Medicine at the same hospital. In parallel, she completed the 1st Postgraduate Training Programme in Prehospital Medicine of EKAB, gaining specialised training in Emergency Medicine.

She has extensive experience in providing anaesthetic support across a broad range of surgical specialties, including complex neurosurgical, vascular, thoracic and orthopaedic procedures. She also has significant experience in the management of polytrauma patients, severe respiratory failure, cardiovascular emergencies and critically ill patients in Intensive Care Units. Her longstanding service as Director of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Post-Anaesthesia Care at Aigio General Hospital has contributed substantially to both her clinical and administrative expertise.
Scientific and Research Work
Dr. Charikleia Lili maintains active scientific, research and educational involvement, with participation in Greek and international conferences, scientific publications and research protocols in the fields of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine. She has presented scientific work at international conferences in intensive care and neuroanaesthesiology, while her research has been published in international scientific journals, including Intensive Care Medicine.

She has received a First Prize for an Oral Presentation at a Panhellenic Congress of Anaesthesiology and has contributed to the translation and preparation of a scientific chapter in G. Edward Morgan Jr.’s Clinical Anesthesiology. In addition, she is actively involved in the education of medical students, resident physicians and healthcare professionals, particularly through training programmes in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Medicine.
Current Position
Since October 2024, Dr. Charikleia Lili has been an Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing specialised anaesthesiology and perioperative care. Her clinical practice places particular emphasis on the management of complex surgical cases, patient safety and the implementation of modern anaesthetic practices.
