Education – Academic Background
Dr. Nikolaos Chaidos completed his secondary education in Athens in 1993. He obtained his Medical Degree in 2000 with a grade of “Very Good”, following six years of study in the English-language programmes of Semmelweis University Budapest and Gr. T. Popa University. He subsequently completed the recognition process of his medical degree in Greece and fulfilled his military service. He began his specialist training in Anaesthesiology at the General Hospital of Nea Ionia “Konstantopouleio” and obtained his specialist qualification in 2008 following successful examinations. He later pursued specialist training in General Surgery, which he completed in 2014, having trained in hospitals in Athens and Cyprus, including Limassol General Hospital.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Nikolaos Chaidos has a particular clinical interest in Breast Surgical Oncology, with emphasis on the diagnosis, surgical treatment and management of breast conditions. His main areas of interest include:
- Surgical treatment of benign and malignant breast conditions
- Breast Surgical Oncology
- Multidisciplinary management of patients with breast cancer
- General Surgery
- Perioperative patient care and safety
His previous specialist training in Anaesthesiology provides him with additional experience in the comprehensive perioperative management of surgical patients.
Scientific and Research Work
Dr. Nikolaos Chaidos further specialised in Breast Surgical Oncology at healthcare institutions in the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom between 2014 and 2018. Throughout his clinical and professional career, he has gained significant experience in the application of modern surgical techniques and international oncology protocols for the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with breast conditions. He regularly participates in scientific conferences and educational programmes in the field of Breast Surgical Oncology, maintaining continuous professional development and keeping up to date with advances in the treatment of breast diseases.
Current Position
Since September 2021, Dr. Nikolaos Chaidos has been a Consultant at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, where he participates in the surgical and oncological management of breast conditions as part of the Hospital’s multidisciplinary breast team.
