Education – Academic Background
Dr. Christos Zafeiriou was born in 1979 and raised in Athens, Greece, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He studied Medicine at the University of Belgrade, graduating with a “Very Good” academic distinction. Following his medical studies, he completed his compulsory rural medical service at a remote Regional Medical Practice in Sigri, Lesvos, gaining valuable experience in primary healthcare. He began his specialist training in Orthopaedics at the General Hospital of Amfissa (2012–2013) and subsequently continued at KAT General Hospital of Attica (2014–2019), where he completed his specialisation in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology.

Dr. Christos Zafeiriou specialises in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, with a particular interest in sports injuries and sports medicine. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, with the aim of achieving optimal functional recovery and supporting patients in their safe return to daily and sporting activities.
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Christos Zafeiriou has extensive clinical experience in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. Following the completion of his specialist training at KAT General Hospital of Attica, he worked from 2019 to 2021 as an Assistant Consultant in Orthopaedics, further developing his experience in the management of a wide range of orthopaedic and trauma cases. During this period, he also served at the Neos Kosmos Health Centre, broadening his experience in the clinical assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions within a primary healthcare setting. His professional career has been characterised by a particular focus on sports injuries and the contemporary management of musculoskeletal trauma.
Current Position
Since October 2021, Dr. Christos Zafeiriou has been working as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. As part of his clinical practice, he provides specialised assessment and management of orthopaedic and trauma conditions, with particular emphasis on sports-related and acute musculoskeletal injuries. His approach focuses on individualised treatment and achieving optimal functional recovery for each patient.
