Education – Academic Background
Dr. Nikolaos Avgeris completed his medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia, graduating in 2015 with a “Very Good” grade (8.22/10). Prior to his medical studies, he attended the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Pécs in Hungary and also graduated from the Department of Dental Technology at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neurosciences, a joint postgraduate programme of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Nikolaos Avgeris has an active and ongoing scientific involvement in the field of Neurology, participating in clinical research, scientific programmes, and educational activities. His scientific interests focus particularly on memory and cognitive disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, movement disorders, epilepsy, and demyelinating diseases. He has actively participated in national and international scientific conferences, presenting scientific work and clinical cases and contributing to the exchange of clinical knowledge and experience. His published scientific work includes research on the monitoring of cerebral oximetry during propofol sedation in endoscopic procedures. In addition, he regularly participates in continuing medical education programmes in Neurology, Neuroimmunology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Cerebrovascular Diseases, and Demyelinating Disorders.
Current Position
Since January 2023, Dr. Nikolaos Avgeris has been working as a Specialist Neurologist at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing specialised neurological care with a focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up of patients with a wide range of neurological conditions.
