Education – Academic Background
Dr. Giannis Panagiotou was born in the Paphos District and graduated from Kykkos Lyceum Paphos in 1998 with an “Excellent” grade. Following the Pancyprian Examinations, he was admitted to the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from which he graduated with a grade of “Very Good.” He subsequently worked at Paphos General Hospital as a trainee doctor (2007–2008), gaining valuable clinical experience in both surgical and medical departments and participating in the management of emergency and elective cases. In 2010, he commenced his specialist training in General Surgery at Nicosia General Hospital, which he completed in 2016. During his training, he developed particular expertise in Endocrine Surgery, with emphasis on thyroid and parathyroid disorders, gaining experience in the preoperative assessment, surgical treatment and postoperative follow-up of complex endocrine cases.

Dr. Giannis Panagiotou is an active member of the Cyprus Medical Association, the Cyprus Surgical Society, the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons, and the Hellenic Society of Endocrine Surgery. He regularly participates in scientific conferences, educational seminars and clinical workshops, maintaining continuous professional development in the field of Endocrine Surgery. His scientific interests focus on the optimisation of thyroid surgical techniques and the implementation of contemporary international protocols in Endocrine Surgery.
Current Position
Since August 2017, Dr. Giannis Panagiotou has been an Exclusive Consultant at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing comprehensive surgical care for patients with endocrine disorders and complex surgical conditions.
