Education – Academic Background
Dr. Dimitrios Vasileiou graduated with distinction from the Medical School of the University of Bucharest, successfully completing the six-year medical programme within the standard period of study. Following graduation, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he worked in Orthopaedic Departments, gaining valuable clinical experience and further developing his knowledge of contemporary orthopaedic practice. He subsequently completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery at KAT General Hospital, Amalia Fleming Hospital, and the “Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital in Athens. He completed his training in June 2018 and obtained his specialist qualification with distinction. In addition, Dr. Vasileiou holds a Master’s Degree in Metabolic Diseases from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, further strengthening his academic background in disorders affecting bone metabolism.

His postgraduate specialisation in Metabolic Diseases has further developed his scientific interest in osteoporosis and other conditions affecting bone health, supporting the application of modern, evidence-based approaches in his daily clinical practice.
Current Position
Since September 2020, Dr. Dimitrios Vasileiou has been working as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, where he actively participates in the clinical and surgical activities of the Orthopaedic Department. His practice encompasses the assessment and management of a broad range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, combining his surgical expertise with his specialised knowledge of metabolic bone diseases and osteoporosis.
