Education – Academic Background
Dr. Konstantinos Droutsas was born in Marousi, Attica, and raised in Akrata, Achaia, where he completed his primary and secondary education with excellent academic performance in 1998. Following the national entrance examinations, he was admitted to the Department of Physiotherapy at the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, graduating in 2003 with a “Very Good” grade. He subsequently entered the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki through qualifying examinations and graduated in 2009. Following the completion of his military service, he served as a rural physician from 2010 to 2011 at the General Hospital–Health Centre of Kalavryta and the Psophida Regional Medical Practice in Achaia. He began his specialist training in Orthopaedics in 2011, undertaking training in General Surgery at the “Agios Andreas” General Hospital of Patras, Paediatric Orthopaedics at the “P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital of Athens, and completing his main Orthopaedic training at the Sismanogleio–Amalia Fleming General Hospital of Attica. He obtained his specialist qualification in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology in 2018.

Research and Scientific Work
Throughout his specialist training and subsequent professional career, Dr. Konstantinos Droutsas has been actively involved in clinical and educational activities in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, with particular emphasis on orthopaedic trauma management and modern reconstructive techniques. From 2018 to 2020, he worked at Sismanogleio–Amalia Fleming General Hospital of Attica, contributing to the clinical activities of the Orthopaedic Department and the training of physicians. He subsequently moved to the United Kingdom, where he worked within the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, including Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, and Good Hope Hospital. Through these appointments, he gained further experience in highly specialised trauma centres and multidisciplinary clinical environments.
Current Position
Since September 2021, Dr. Konstantinos Droutsas has been working as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. He is actively involved in the clinical and scientific activities of the Orthopaedic Department, providing specialised care across a broad spectrum of orthopaedic conditions and performing a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, with particular emphasis on trauma management and reconstructive orthopaedic surgery.
