Education – Academic Background
Dr. Maria Koursopoulou graduated from the “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași, Romania, in 2005 with a degree in Medicine. Prior to her medical studies, she completed studies in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Hippocrates School of Athens (1997–1999). She also pursued further studies in Human Nutrition at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom (2006–2007), broadening her academic background in nutrition and its relationship with health and disease.

Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Maria Koursopoulou has undertaken specialised training in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine through the Greek National Centre for Emergency Care (EKAB) during 2020–2021. Her continuing professional education includes certifications in Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation (BLS/AED) in 2023, Advanced Life Support (ALS) in 2024, and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) in 2025. She has also completed training in Aesthetic Medicine techniques, including Botox and dermal fillers, during 2021–2022. Her multidisciplinary educational background combines Medicine, Emergency Care, Nutrition, and Primary Healthcare.
Current Position
Since December 2025, Dr. Maria Koursopoulou has been an Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, contributing to the provision of comprehensive medical care with particular emphasis on clinical assessment, acute care, prevention, and a patient-centred approach.
