Education – Academic Background
Dr. Zoi Christoforidou graduated from the School of Medicine of the Democritus University of Thrace in 2017 and obtained her licence to practise medicine in the same year. She completed her specialist training in Paediatrics in January 2024, having trained at the Department of Paediatrics of Katerini General Hospital, the Second Department of Paediatrics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at AHEPA University General Hospital, and the Second Department of Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Papageorgiou General Hospital. Since 2023, she has also been enrolled in the postgraduate programme in Interventional Cardiology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Zoi Christoforidou practises across the full spectrum of Paediatrics, with a particular interest in Neonatology, Paediatric Cardiology, Paediatric Endocrinology, the care of children and adolescents with diabetes mellitus, and the management of paediatric emergencies. She has experience in the follow-up and care of newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, providing comprehensive paediatric care with an emphasis on prevention, early diagnosis, and the overall healthy growth and development of the child.
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Zoi Christoforidou is actively involved in the scientific community of Paediatrics through presentations and scientific communications at national paediatric conferences. She has presented scientific work and clinical cases in the fields of Paediatric Cardiology, infectious diseases, and paediatric emergencies. She regularly participates in scientific conferences, educational meetings, and professional training programmes. She also holds BLS, ALS, and EPALS certifications from the European Resuscitation Council, reflecting her ongoing commitment to developments in contemporary Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine.
Current Position
Since November 2025, Dr. Zoi Christoforidou has been working as an Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. With contemporary scientific training and clinical experience gained in both university and general hospitals, she provides comprehensive primary and hospital-based paediatric care, with a focus on promoting the health and well-being of children and adolescents.
