Education – Academic Background
Dr. Pantelis Yialias graduated from the School of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, in 1999. He subsequently undertook training in General Medicine and completed his specialist training in Radiology in Greece, obtaining his specialist qualification in 2009. His training was carried out at Samos General Hospital, Tzaneio General Hospital of Piraeus, Metaxa Cancer Hospital of Piraeus and the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital in Athens. His specialist training covered the full spectrum of Diagnostic Radiology, with particular emphasis on breast imaging, ultrasonography, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and image-guided interventional procedures. Throughout his professional career, he has served as a Consultant Radiologist and Director of Radiology Departments in public and private hospitals in Greece. From 2012 to 2025, he worked in Sweden as a Consultant Radiologist and subsequently as Chief/Medical Director of the Breast Imaging Department at Linköping University Hospital, one of the country’s major university medical centres.

He also has extensive experience in general radiology, adult and paediatric ultrasonography, Doppler ultrasonography and interventional diagnostic techniques.
Scientific and Research Work
Dr. Pantelis Yialias has dedicated a significant part of his professional career to the development and implementation of modern breast imaging techniques and the optimisation of breast cancer screening programmes. His longstanding experience in university hospitals and specialised breast centres in Sweden has enabled him to participate actively in the implementation of advanced diagnostic and interventional protocols for the early detection and management of breast cancer. His scientific interests focus primarily on breast imaging, advanced image-guided biopsy techniques and the optimisation of diagnostic pathways for the detection of early-stage malignancies.
Current Position
Dr. Pantelis Yialias is a Consultant Radiologist at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, where he provides specialised breast imaging and diagnostic services with particular emphasis on the early and accurate detection of breast disease.
