Education – Academic Background
Dr. Dimitrios Ntalianis graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia, in 2015. He completed his specialist training in Internal Medicine in 2023, following several years of training at the First Department of Internal Medicine of Papageorgiou General Hospital in Thessaloniki. He subsequently specialised in Intensive Care Medicine at the Intensive Care Unit of “Sotiria” General Hospital of Chest Diseases in Athens, obtaining his specialist qualification in 2026. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Functional Ultrasound Imaging for the Prevention and Diagnosis of Vascular Diseases from the University of Thessaly. In addition, Dr. Ntalianis is a PhD candidate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine and is currently undertaking postgraduate training in “Applied Respiratory Physiology in the Critically Ill Patient” at the University of Crete.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Dimitrios Ntalianis specialises in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, with a particular interest in the management of critically ill patients, functional ultrasound imaging, haemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and the management of acute and complex medical conditions. His professional interests also include the application of modern ultrasound techniques in everyday clinical practice and the optimisation of patient care within the Intensive Care Unit setting.
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Dimitrios Ntalianis is actively involved in the scientific community through conferences, educational programmes, and academic contributions. He has presented scientific papers and poster presentations at national conferences in Internal Medicine, Diabetology, and Intensive Care Medicine and regularly participates in specialised educational programmes organised by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). He holds certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Immediate Life Support (ILS), and Basic Intensive Care Provider. He has also contributed to chapters in the 26th edition of the scientific publication Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine. His ongoing research activity is further supported by his doctoral studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine.
Current Position
Since June 2026, Dr. Dimitrios Ntalianis has been working as an Exclusive Consultant at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. With a strong background in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, he provides specialised care for critically ill patients, applying modern methods of clinical monitoring, vital organ support, and individualised therapeutic management. His clinical approach is based on evidence-based medical practice, continuous professional development, and multidisciplinary collaboration, with the aim of achieving optimal outcomes for his patients.
