The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus is one of the most advanced and comprehensively equipped critical care units in Cyprus. Positive and Negative Pressure Isolation Rooms
The Intensive Care Unit includes dedicated positive- and negative-pressure isolation rooms, designed in accordance with international standards for infection prevention, control, and biosafety.
Negative-pressure isolation rooms are used for patients with highly infectious diseases, helping to contain airborne pathogens and protect both patients and healthcare professionals.
Positive-pressure isolation rooms provide a protected environment for particularly vulnerable or immunocompromised patients by maintaining carefully controlled air quality and minimising the risk of infection.
