Dr. Konstantinos Katsarakis was born in Heraklion, Crete. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Crete. After completing his studies in 2012, he worked as a Rural Service Physician at the Leros Health Center in the Dodecanese. He returned to Crete and, specifically, to the General Hospital of Agios Nikolaos, where he began his specialized training to obtain a cardiology specialty, working as a resident in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Subsequently, he moved to Cyprus, where, after successfully passing oral examinations, he continued his cardiology specialization, working at the General Hospitals of Limassol and Nicosia (including a three-month rotation in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic). As part of his training, he returned to Crete and worked in the Cardiology Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion, specifically in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Ultrasound Laboratory. He successfully completed the necessary exams mandated by the Panhellenic Medical Association in 2019. Following this, he continued his training at the Training Center for Advanced Echocardiography Techniques in the Cardiology Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion.
Since September 2019, he has been working as a Specialist Cardiologist at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. He serves as the Head of the Ultrasound Department and Deputy Director of the Cardiology Clinic.
Dr. Katsarakis is a certified Sports Medicine Physician by the Cyprus Sports Medicine Society and has undergone further training in Emergency Prehospital Medicine at the National Center for Immediate Assistance. He is a certified cardiologist in echocardiography by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).
He is a member of the Cyprus and Greek Medical Associations, as well as the Cypriot and Hellenic Cardiology Societies. He is also a member of the European Society of Cardiology and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
