Education – Academic Background

Dr Eleni Christofi is a Medical Doctor and graduate of the School of Medicine of the University of Cyprus, where she studied from 2020 to 2026, graduating with a GPA of 8.26/10. During her studies, she was a recipient of a Cyprus State Scholarships Foundation (IKYK) scholarship from 2020 to 2026. As part of her clinical education, she completed a two-month Clinical Internship in Adult and Paediatric Transplant Surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, through an Erasmus Clinical Placement. She also participated in the 2022 FUSF Global Internship Program, completing a MOOC in Therapeutic Ultrasound. She was also an active member of the Cyprus Medical Students Association (CyMSA), participating in workshops and group projects, including surgical suturing training.

Areas of Interest

Dr Eleni Christofi has developed an interest in Clinical Medicine, Surgery and modern medical education through her academic and clinical training. Her clinical placement in Adult and Paediatric Transplant Surgery in the United Kingdom, together with her training in Therapeutic Ultrasound, provided her with additional exposure to specialised areas of contemporary medical practice.

Scientific and Research Work

Eleni Christofi has already been involved in scientific and academic work. She is a co-author of a case report published in the Journal of Orthopaedic Reports in 2024, concerning bone transport using an intramedullary magnetic nail in a femur with chronic osteomyelitis following a car bomb attack in Somalia. During the 2023–2024 academic year, she served as a Teaching Assistant in Clinical Skills (OSCEs) for second- and third-year medical students. She was also one of nine authors of the CyMSA educational booklet “Greek in the Clinic”, which, according to her CV, is currently in the publication process. Her scientific activities also include attendance at the 4th International Seminar on Pediatric Hearing in 2024, the 1st Cyprus Oncology Congress in 2025 and the 4th Seminar on Medical Research Methodology in January 2026.

Current Position

Since August 2026, Eleni Christofi has been working as a Physician in the Accident & Emergency Department (A&E) at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, participating in the assessment and management of emergency cases and providing immediate medical care as part of the Department’s multidisciplinary team.
