Education – Academic Background
Dr. Vasileios Pappas was born in Athens in 1973 and studied Medicine at the University of Pécs in Hungary from 1991 to 1997. Following graduation, he successfully completed the DOATAP degree equivalency examinations in Athens, achieving an overall grade of “Very Good”. He subsequently completed his military service in the Hellenic Army from January 1999 to July 2000. From December 2000 to December 2001, he served as a Rural Physician at the Regional Medical Centre of Arachova, Nafpaktia, gaining experience in Primary Healthcare and emergency medical care.

Scientific and Research Work
Dr. Vasileios Pappas completed his Doctoral Thesis (PhD) at the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2014. He completed his specialist training in Pulmonology – Tuberculosis at the University Clinic of Evangelismos Hospital in Athens from 2003 to 2007. He subsequently pursued specialised training in Intensive Care Medicine at the same hospital from 2009 to 2012. Throughout his career, he has maintained scientific and clinical involvement in the fields of Intensive Care Medicine and Pulmonology, participating in educational programmes and clinical activities focused on optimising the management and treatment of critically ill patients.
Current Position
Since November 2021, Dr. Vasileios Pappas has been an Exclusive Consultant at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing specialised intensive care to critically ill patients, with particular emphasis on advanced organ support and the multidisciplinary management of complex critical care cases.
