Education – Academic Background
Dr. Dimitrios Bestitzanos graduated from the School of Medicine of the University of Patras. Following his military service, he completed his rural medical service on the island of Kalymnos. He subsequently completed his specialist training in Internal Medicine at the Athens Polyclinic and pursued further specialised training in Intensive Care Medicine at the General State Hospital of Nikaia, Piraeus, where he obtained the relevant certification. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Molecular and Applied Physiology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Dr. Dimitrios Bestitzanos specialises in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, with a particular interest in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as the care of critically ill patients. Since March 2024, Dr. Dimitrios Bestitzanos has been working as an Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing comprehensive clinical care to both inpatients and outpatients. His clinical approach is centred on thorough patient assessment, evidence-based medical practice, and individualised care tailored to each patient’s clinical needs.
