  • MSc in Nutrition in Health and Disease (2023), graduating with Distinction (9.55/10).

His postgraduate dissertations focused on the effectiveness of physical exercise and lifestyle interventions during pregnancy in preventing gestational diabetes mellitus among high-risk women, through systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomised controlled trials.
Since July 2023, he has been a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ioannina. His doctoral research focuses on interventions in Primary Healthcare aimed at increasing patient participation in cancer screening programmes, using systematic mapping reviews and evidence synthesis. He completed his specialist training in Internal Medicine at the General Hospital of Larissa, where he trained during the periods 2017–2020 and 2023–2025. He obtained his Specialist Qualification in Internal Medicine in June 2026, following successful completion of the specialty examinations at AHEPA University Hospital in Thessaloniki. During his specialist training, he gained extensive experience in the clinical assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic management of patients with a wide range of internal medicine conditions, including the care of hospitalised patients and the management of cases in outpatient clinics and Emergency Departments.
His professional experience also includes service as a Rural Physician at the Kalambaka Health Centre (2020–2021) and employment as a Physician at the Apollonio Rehabilitation and Recovery Centre (2021–2023), where he was involved in the medical monitoring and care of patients undergoing rehabilitation. His research focuses primarily on diabetes prevention, metabolic and cardiovascular risk, dietary and lifestyle interventions, and clinical research methodology. His published scientific work includes eight articles in international scientific journals between 2022 and 2026.
In 2022, he published a meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials in PLOS ONE, examining the effectiveness of exercise interventions during pregnancy in preventing gestational diabetes mellitus among high-risk women.
In 2023, he published a study in the Journal of Clinical Medicine investigating the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions during pregnancy in preventing gestational diabetes mellitus. In 2024, he contributed to a comprehensive review in the same journal addressing gestational metabolic risk, pregnancy-related complications, and the effects of dietary, exercise and lifestyle interventions on reducing gestational weight gain and preventing gestational diabetes.
In 2025, he published a systematic review and meta-analysis in the Journal of Clinical Medicine examining the effectiveness of metformin, both as a standalone intervention and in combination with lifestyle modifications, in preventing type 2 diabetes mellitus among high-risk individuals.
In the same year, an updated systematic review and meta-analysis was published in Frontiers in Clinical Diabetes and Healthcare, investigating the effectiveness of GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors in preventing type 2 diabetes mellitus in high-risk patients.

In 2026, he contributed to three additional scientific publications:

  • In Diabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, examining the effectiveness of GLP-1 receptor agonists in restoring normal blood glucose levels in patients with prediabetes.
