Dr. Panayiota Michael graduated from the European University Cyprus School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2026. She began her medical studies at the University of Cologne in Germany, where she completed the preclinical years of her medical education, before continuing and completing her studies in Cyprus. During her clinical training, she undertook clinical placements at hospitals in Cyprus, gaining experience in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, and Emergency Medicine. She is fluent in Greek, English, and German.

Dr. Panayiota Michael has a particular interest in Internal Medicine and comprehensive patient care. During her clinical training, she gained experience in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, and Emergency Medicine. She is committed to continuous scientific and professional development, applying evidence-based medical practice with a strong focus on patient-centred care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Research and Scientific Work
As part of her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, Dr. Panayiota Michael completed her thesis entitled “Graphene-Based Nanomaterials as Antifungal Agents: A Systematic Review”, conducting a systematic review of the international literature on the antifungal properties of graphene-based nanomaterials. Her research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of these materials against clinically significant fungal pathogens and exploring their potential future clinical applications.
Current Position
Since July 2026, Dr. Panayiota Michael has been working as a physician in the Accident & Emergency Department (A&E) at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. Having completed her clinical training at hospitals across Cyprus, including the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, she contributes to the provision of prompt and comprehensive emergency care, demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and a strong commitment to the continuous development of her clinical skills.
