Education – Academic Background

Dr. Marilina Neocleous graduated from the University of Cyprus Medical School in 2026. During her medical studies, she completed clinical training in Ophthalmology, General Surgery, and Gastroenterology, gaining experience in university hospitals in Greece and Cyprus. In parallel, she participated in educational programmes and seminars, with a strong focus on her continuous scientific and professional development.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Marilina Neocleous has a particular interest in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, and Ophthalmology. Her approach to medicine is grounded in evidence-based scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and patient-centred care, with the aim of providing comprehensive and personalised care tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

Research and Scientific Work

Dr. Marilina Neocleous is actively involved in research and academic activities. She is a co-author of the scientific paper entitled “Immune-Mediated Coronary Stent Failure: From PCI-Induced Vascular Injury to In-Stent Restenosis, Neoatherosclerosis and Stent Thrombosis”, which is currently under review for publication.

She also presented a scientific project at the Alistair Fielder Prize in Ophthalmology on the use of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular risk assessment through ophthalmological findings. In addition, she served as a Peer Teaching Assistant at the University of Cyprus, training medical students in practical OSCE skills. She also regularly attends scientific conferences and educational seminars as part of her commitment to continuous medical education and professional development.

Current Position

Since July 2026, Dr. Marilina Neocleous has been working as a physician in the Accident & Emergency Department (A&E) at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. With a strong academic background, experience across diverse clinical settings, and a commitment to evidence-based medical practice, she provides responsible and comprehensive patient care while continuously developing her medical knowledge and clinical skills.
