At the Interventional Neurointerventional Radiology Clinic of Mediterranean Hospital, cases of brain aneurysms or arteriovenous malformations of the brain and spinal cord are evaluated. We address patient inquiries accompanying the diagnosis, assessing whether aneurysm or malformation treatment is necessary and apply the appropriate treatment for each patient individually. A brain aneurysm can rupture and cause bleeding in the brain, a form of stroke that is life-threatening for the patient. In such cases, the aneurysm must be treated promptly, usually within 24 hours, if there is a risk of further bleeding. A brain aneurysm can also be incidentally detected during an examination like a Brain MRI, performed for another reason. Although this is not an emergency situation, it must be evaluated by experienced neurointerventional radiologists and treated with the appropriate care.
