Education – Academic Background
Dr. Sampson Panayiotidis graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in Bulgaria in 2017, earning his medical degree with a “Very Good” classification. His medical studies were conducted entirely in English. He completed his specialist training in Urology in 2024, following several years of training at Veria General Hospital and the Second Department of Urology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at Papageorgiou General Hospital. He is also undertaking the Master’s Degree programme “Surgical Infections: Diagnosis – Treatment – Prevention” at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with a research interest in risk factors for urosepsis in patients undergoing endourological procedures.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Sampson Panayiotidis practises across the full spectrum of modern Urology, with a particular interest in endourology, urinary stone disease, urological oncology, urinary tract infections, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. His clinical interests also include the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the prostate, urinary bladder, and kidneys. He applies contemporary diagnostic and therapeutic approaches with the aim of providing effective, evidence-based, and individualised patient care.
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Sampson Panayiotidis is actively involved in the scientific and academic community of Urology through research protocols, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences. He is a member of the editorial team of the Greek edition of the PENN Clinical Manual of Urology and has contributed as a co-author to scientific publications and review articles in international peer-reviewed journals. He has also participated in multicentre research studies conducted by the Second Department of Urology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has presented scientific work at conferences of the Hellenic Urological Association. In addition, from 2022 to 2024, he was involved in the clinical education of undergraduate medical students at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine, serving as an instructor and examiner in Urology clinical training.
Current Position
Since June 2026, Dr. Sampson Panayiotidis has been working as a Specialist Urologist and Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. He provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for a wide range of urological conditions, incorporating contemporary advances in Urology and minimally invasive surgery into his clinical practice. His approach is centred on evidence-based medicine, patient safety, and individualised care, with a commitment to providing high-quality urological services to his patients.
