Education – Academic Background
Dr. Evangelos Kostakos graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in Bulgaria in 1998, obtaining his medical degree and a postgraduate qualification. He subsequently completed his compulsory military service as a Military Doctor, followed by his rural medical service in Greece. He completed his specialist training in Urology at Tzaneio General Hospital in Piraeus, where he received extensive training in open and endoscopic urological surgery. As part of his specialist training, he also undertook clinical rotations in General Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, and Gynaecology. Dr. Kostakos is certified in Robotic Surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System, following specialised training at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has also attended numerous international and European training programmes in Endourology, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Robotic Surgery.

Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Evangelos Kostakos has more than 16 years of experience as a Specialist Urologist and has worked as a Consultant Urologist at major public and private hospitals in Greece, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, and Cyprus. He has actively participated in educational programmes, international conferences, and specialised Urology courses, while developing extensive clinical experience in the management of complex urological conditions. He has contributed to scientific publications and research activities in the field of Urology and is a member of the European Association of Urology (EAU), as well as other international scientific organisations. His international clinical experience and continuous professional development have contributed to his expertise in modern Endourology, minimally invasive techniques, and Robotic Urological Surgery.
Current Position
Since April 2024, Dr. Evangelos Kostakos has been working as an Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing specialised diagnostic and therapeutic services across the full spectrum of urological conditions. His clinical practice places particular emphasis on contemporary minimally invasive and robotic urological techniques, combining modern surgical approaches with evidence-based and individualised patient care.
