Professor Dr. Zisis Dimitriadis was born in Kozani and grew up in Thessaloniki, where he attended the German School of Thessaloniki. He began his medical studies at the Democritus University of Thrace in Alexandroupolis and completed them at the University of Frankfurt. After ten years of specialization at Europe’s largest cardiology and cardiac surgery center in Bad Oeynhausen, where he specialized in Cardiology and worked as an assistant physician, he continued his career at the University Hospital of Mainz, where he served as the Deputy Director of the Interventional Cardiology Department, contributing to both clinical and academic work. In 2019, he became the Deputy Director of the entire Cardiology Department at the University of Frankfurt, where he continues to hold his academic position. He completed his doctoral dissertation at the University of Frankfurt in 2012 and also pursued postgraduate studies in Economics and Health Services Management, earning a Master’s degree (MHA) from the University of Nuremberg. In 2014, he was awarded a research scholarship from the University of Bochum.
Dr. Zisis Dimitriadis has been recognized in both America and Europe, with a highlight in his career being awarded for the best aortic valve replacement case in 2016 in Germany. Additionally, in 2022, he was selected as one of the 13 interventional cardiologists to train American colleagues in the most modern interventional cardiology treatments (valvular diseases, mitral and tricuspid valves, and left atrial appendage occlusion). He performs surgeries in Germany and Switzerland. Since 2021, he has also been performing surgeries in Cyprus at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus as an Interventional Cardiologist, Director of the Cardiology Department, and continues to be an Associate Professor at Frankfurt University.
