Dr. Vasileios Papas was born in Athens in 1973. He studied at the Medical School of the University of Pécs, Hungary (1991-1997). He passed the diploma equivalence exams (DOATAP) in Athens, graduating with honors (Grade: Very Good).
He completed his military service in the Hellenic Army (January 1999 – July 2000).
He fulfilled his rural medical service at the remote Regional Health Center of Arachova, Nafpaktia (December 2000 – December 2001).
Dr. Papas worked as a general practitioner at EUROMEDICA Clinic in Athens until he began his specialization (January 2002 – January 2003).
He specialized in Pulmonology and Tuberculosis at the University Clinic (KETHE) of Evangelismos Hospital, Athens (January 2003 – July 2007).
He worked as a junior consultant in the University Pulmonology Clinic of Sotiria Hospital (November 2008 – November 2009).
He completed his subspecialization in Intensive Care Medicine at the University Clinic of Evangelismos Hospital, Athens (November 2009 – November 2011), with an extension of his training until September 2012.
Dr. Papas served as the lead physician in the ICU of the private clinic Peiraiko Therapeftirio (November 2012 – October 2017). During the same period, he performed on-call duties in the ICUs of the Athens Medical Center, Eugenideio Hospital, and BioClinic of Athens.
In April 2014, he earned his Doctorate (Ph.D.) from the Medical School of the University of Athens.
He worked as a consultant at KSMC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (October 2017 – August 2021).
Since November 2021, Dr. Papas has been working in the ICU of the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus (MHOC).
