Education – Academic Background
Dr. Konstantinos Diplaris was born in 1979 in Karditsa, Greece, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2003. Following graduation, he served as a military doctor in the Hellenic Army and subsequently completed his compulsory rural medical service in Argithea, at the Mouzaki Health Centre in Karditsa. From 2006 to 2009, he completed the first part of his specialist training in General Surgery at Hippokration General Hospital of Thessaloniki, gaining clinical experience through the 5th Department of Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Transplant Surgery. He subsequently specialised in Cardiothoracic Surgery at G. Papanikolaou General Hospital of Thessaloniki, completing his specialist training in 2014. From 2014 to 2015, he pursued advanced training in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France.

Dr. Konstantinos Diplaris has an active academic and scientific background, with publications and scientific papers in international medical journals, as well as participation in numerous national and international conferences and educational programmes. He served as a Clinical Researcher in the PERSIST study, evaluating the new generation of the Perceval sutureless valve for aortic valve replacement. He also served as Chef de Clinique at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Poitiers in France, where he was actively involved in clinical practice, medical education, and research. Dr. Diplaris is a Board Member of the Cyprus Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons, contributing to the scientific development and advancement of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Cyprus.
Current Position
Since August 2020, Dr. Konstantinos Diplaris has been working as an Exclusive Internal Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing specialised surgical treatment for a broad spectrum of cardiac conditions. His practice incorporates contemporary cardiac surgical techniques, including minimally invasive approaches, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, individualised treatment planning, and the provision of high-quality cardiothoracic surgical care.
