Dr. Chara Savva has been an associate of the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus since July 2025. Born and raised in Larnaca, she graduated from Agios Georgios Lyceum with honors. She was admitted to the School of Medicine at the University of Patras following the national examinations and obtained her medical degree in 2019.
She completed her residency in Anesthesiology at “LAIKO” General Hospital of Athens, a premier referral center for complex surgical procedures and transplantations. Her close collaboration with esteemed surgical professors was instrumental in shaping her clinical approach and deepening her understanding of perioperative management. In 2025, she was awarded the title of Specialist in Anesthesiology in Athens. Concurrently, she is a candidate for a Master of Science (MSc) in “Algology: Pain Management” from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Her clinical experience includes the management of over 200 kidney transplantations and liver transplant cases, as well as a wide range of procedures such as esophagectomies (Ivor Lewis), hepatectomies, pancreatectomies (Whipple), bariatric surgery, and complex vascular cases (thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair and endovascular procedures). Furthermore, she possesses significant experience in both open and robotic-assisted urological surgeries.

Dr. Savva maintains a strong scientific presence with publications in international peer-reviewed journals, such as Signa Vitae and Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (RAPM), and presentations at Panhellenic and European conferences (ESRA, EFIC). Her research interests focus on multimodal analgesia and opioid-sparing techniques. She serves as an External Scientific Associate at the European University Cyprus, contributing to the education of students in Basic Life Support (BLS) principles.
She holds international certifications as an ALS (Advanced Life Support) and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) Provider, and in Advanced Airway Management. She has also successfully completed all six cycles of the Committee for European Education in Anaesthesiology (CEEA). Dr. Savva is an active member of several scientific organizations, including:
