Education – Academic Background
Dr. Christodoulos Skliros graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Messina in Italy in 2006. He subsequently completed a Master’s Degree in Molecular and Applied Physiology at the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He completed his specialist training in Internal Medicine at Tzaneio General Hospital and “Attikon” University Hospital, obtaining his specialist qualification in 2017. In 2022, he completed his PhD at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), with research focusing on Neuroscience, Neuroanatomy, and the study of brain connectivity using advanced neuroimaging techniques.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Christodoulos Skliros’ main clinical and scientific interests include Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Intensive Care Medicine. He has particular experience in the management of infectious diseases, respiratory conditions, autoimmune and rheumatological disorders, cardiovascular diseases, haematological disorders, and complex diagnostic cases. He also maintains a strong scientific interest in Neuroscience and translational medical research, combining his clinical background with his experience in advanced biomedical research.
Research and Scientific Work
Dr. Christodoulos Skliros has an extensive research background in Neuroscience, Neuroanatomy, and medical research. During his research work at UNSW Sydney, he participated in international scientific collaborations with leading academic institutions, including Duke University and Johns Hopkins University. He has presented his research at international scientific conferences, including the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting in the United States, and has contributed to scientific publications in the fields of Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Neuroscience. His academic and research experience reflects a multidisciplinary approach that combines clinical medicine, neuroscience, and translational research.
Current Position
Since August 2025, Dr. Christodoulos Skliros has been working as an Exclusive Consultant at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus. Prior to joining the Hospital, he worked as a physician in the Intensive Care Unit of “Attikon” University Hospital and as a Consultant in Internal Medicine at Thriasio General Hospital, gaining extensive experience in the management of acute and critically ill patients, as well as complex internal medicine cases. His clinical approach is centred on comprehensive patient assessment, evidence-based medical practice, and the individualised management of complex medical conditions.
