Education – Academic Background
Dr. Vasileia Tsampika Kalamara graduated from the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2016 with an “Excellent” grade. From 2017 to 2018, she completed her Rural Medical Service at Florina General Hospital, gaining valuable experience in primary and emergency medical care. In 2018, she began her specialist training in Internal Medicine at the General Oncology Hospital of Kifissia. From 2020 to 2024, she continued her specialist training in Hematology at major hospitals in Athens and Thessaloniki, receiving comprehensive training across the full spectrum of benign and malignant hematological disorders. In June 2024, she successfully completed the European Hematology Association (EHA) European Hematology Examination, and in December 2024 she obtained her specialist qualification in Hematology. She also completed the English-language MSc in Medical Research Methodology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, graduating with an “Excellent” grade.
Areas of Interest
Dr. Vasileia Tsampika Kalamara specialises in Clinical Hematology, with particular interest in:
- Benign and malignant hematological disorders
- Coagulation disorders, including thrombotic and bleeding conditions
- Diagnosis and treatment of hematological malignancies
- Personalised hematological patient care
- Modern therapeutic approaches in Hematology
She is also undertaking further specialised training at Sorbonne University in France, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of thrombotic and bleeding disorders.
Scientific and Research Work
Since 2022, Dr. Vasileia Tsampika Kalamara has been a Scientific Associate at the Laboratory of Physiology of the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she is also a PhD candidate. Her scientific activity includes publications in international peer-reviewed journals and presentations at Greek and European scientific conferences. She has received academic excellence scholarships supporting her postgraduate and doctoral research, as well as research grants for participation in the European Hematology Association (EHA) Annual Congresses in 2023 and 2024.

Current Position
Since September 2025, Dr. Vasileia Tsampika Kalamara has been a member of the medical team at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing comprehensive clinical and diagnostic hematology care to both outpatients and hospitalised patients.
