Education – Academic Background
Dr. Maria Palatianou graduated from the School of Medicine of the University of Ioannina. She completed her specialist training in Gastroenterology at the General Hospital of Nikaia–Piraeus “Agios Panteleimon” and the General Hospital of Western Attica “Agia Varvara”. In addition to her medical degree, she holds a degree in Biology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is currently a PhD candidate in Medicine at the same university.

Scientific and Research Work
Dr. Maria Palatianou maintains an active scientific presence through participation in Greek and international medical conferences, as well as through publications in scientific journals in the field of Gastroenterology. She has contributed to research and clinical studies focusing on improving the understanding, diagnosis and management of hepatogastrointestinal diseases and inflammatory bowel disease.
Current Position
Since August 2024, Dr. Maria Palatianou has been an Exclusive Consultant Physician at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, providing comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders. As part of her clinical role, she actively participates in the Hospital’s diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services, contributing to the provision of specialised and patient-centred gastroenterological care.
