Education – Academic Background
Dr. Dimitrios Isaakidis graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he studied from 1993 to 1999 and obtained his Medical Degree. He completed his specialist training in Neurosurgery between 2003 and 2009 at university and tertiary hospitals in Greece, receiving extensive clinical and surgical training in both cranial and spinal neurosurgery. He also holds an MSc in Applied Neuroanatomy from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), completed between 2017 and 2021. Since 2017, he has been pursuing a PhD focusing on Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, further developing his academic and research expertise in the field of Neurosurgery.

Dr. Dimitrios Isaakidis has extensive involvement in scientific conferences, educational programmes, and specialised neurosurgical training courses in Greece and internationally. He has presented numerous scientific papers through oral presentations and posters at national and international conferences, covering areas such as spinal neurosurgery, neurovascular disorders, hydrocephalus, and the surgical management of tumours and traumatic conditions of the central nervous system. He also actively participates in continuing medical education programmes organised by leading European and international scientific organisations, including EUROSPINE, EANS, and AO Spine, supporting his ongoing professional development and the integration of contemporary neurosurgical techniques into clinical practice.
Current Position
Since December 2024, Dr. Dimitrios Isaakidis has been working as a Neurosurgeon at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, where he is involved in the assessment, clinical management, and surgical treatment of neurosurgical conditions. His clinical practice encompasses specialised neurosurgical care, with particular emphasis on cranial and spinal disorders, combining extensive clinical experience with contemporary surgical approaches and evidence-based patient care.
