Molecular Testing

In our Hospital Laboratory, we have the capability to provide same-day results for the following tests:

  • Meningitis testing
  • Tuberculosis testing
  • COVID-19 testing using molecular methods
Immunology Laboratory

In the Immunology Laboratory, a wide range of immunological tests are performed, which significantly contribute to the investigation of diseases, the monitoring of disease progression, and the comprehensive treatment of patients.

The following tests are performed in the Immunology Laboratory:

  • Prenatal screening tests
  • Testing for autoimmune and infectious diseases
  • Testing for antibodies against viruses (hepatitis, AIDS, syphilis, etc.) and microorganisms (Pneumococcus, Legionella, Toxoplasma)
Hormonal Testing

Hormonal tests are largely used for the evaluation of endocrine glands. Hormone tests are useful in the assessment of the reproductive system, thyroid function, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, growth disorders, and other conditions.

The following tests are performed in the MHOC Laboratory:

  • Testing of all major hormones

Analytical Biochemistry Laboratory

The aim of the Hospital’s Analytical Biochemistry Laboratory is the integration of new technologies into the daily operation of the Clinical Laboratory.

It focuses on analyses such as:

  • Testing of all essential biochemical parameters
  • Diabetes testing
  • Evaluation of lipid metabolism disorders
  • Assessment of liver, kidney, pancreatic, bone, and cardiac function, electrolytes, and vitamins
  • Monitoring of drug levels and tumour markers are also performed.
Microbiology Laboratory

In the Microbiology Laboratory of Mediterranean Hospital, direct microbiological examinations and cultures of all types of biological fluids are performed.

Culture testing, combined with the appropriate therapeutic treatment, constitutes an important prerequisite for the comprehensive treatment of patients.

The following tests are performed in the Microbiology Laboratory of Mediterranean Hospital:

  • Cultures of all types (urine, vaginal, ear, CSF, blood, stool, pleural fluid, ascitic fluid, sputum, pharyngeal, bronchial, wounds, and ulcers).
  • Identification of microorganisms using the most reliable and rapid mass spectrometry method (MALDI-TOF).
  • Antibiotic susceptibility testing using an automated method, according to the latest updated guidelines.
Haematology Laboratory

Haematology laboratory analyses are fundamental for clinical diagnosis.

In the Haematology Laboratory of Mediterranean Hospital, tests are performed such as full blood count, reticulocyte count, anaemia assessment, coagulation disorder testing, evaluation of haematological disorders, and haemoglobinopathy screening.
