Intravenous therapies are administered in the Day Care Unit (as outpatients) as well as in the beds of the Internal Medicine Department (as inpatients).
The Day Care Unit (D.C.U.) currently has 8 beds and operates daily from 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday. In the D.C.U., in addition to the administration of specialized treatments, necessary supportive treatments are also provided, such as hydration/IV electrolyte loading, transfusions, administration of antiemetic therapy, and drainage procedures. There are 8 infusion pumps available, as well as 1 machine to prevent hair loss caused by chemotherapy administration (cool cap machine).
