Dr. Georgios Charamis, a Urologist-Surgeon, graduated from the English-speaking department of the Semmelweis Medical School in Budapest, Hungary, with a grade of “Very Good.” After completing the diploma recognition exams and his compulsory rural service, he trained for one year in General Surgery at the “H. Pammakaristos” hospital and for four years in Urology at the Konstantopouleio General Hospital of Nea Ionia. After obtaining his specialty degree in 2008, he specialized for one year in endourology and minimally invasive surgery as an Endourology Fellow at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University, one of the largest academic centers in the United States.
Subsequently, with a scholarship from the European Urological Association, he worked at the Cochin St. Vincent de Paul University Clinic, Paris V, in France. In June 2010, he earned the title from the European Board of Urology after written and oral exams in Brussels (Fellow of The European Board of Urology, FEBU). In February 2014, he was awarded a Ph.D. from the Medical School of the University of Athens, with the thesis “Production and biological action of the signaling molecules soluble guanylate cyclase/cyclic GMP (sGC/cGMP) in prostate cancer cell lines,” with honors.
From 2011 to 2016, he worked as the scientific director of the urology clinic at Doctors Hospital in Athens. From 2017 to 2020, he was the director of the urology department at Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In March 2020, he undertook the creation, organization, and staffing of the urology department at the American hospital LuccaHealth Medical Center in Accra, Ghana. Since November 2023, he has been working at the Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus, with a particular focus on endoscopic and minimally invasive urological surgeries.
